Chewing Pics

Oh yes. And guess what I've found on myspace, Naima is now in a band! She is the vocalist, while the other 2 guys do the basses, drum and stuffs. It didn't occured to me that she does sing, I reckon its probably the pressure that her family's music background that propelled her to doing so. Well go to their myspace and listen to the demos, and judge it for yourself whether this band can actually survive.

Here's a little abstract of what they wrote about themselves:
The Chewing Pics band was formed in the last months of year 2007. While band mates and long time compadres Ernestos D’Amaso and Elias Diaz have been making music together since the turn of the century, it wasn’t until singer Naima Mora joined in on the mishap that their music began to take solid shape. Drummer Elias happened to take notice of the singer’s unique melodic voice and tremulous screaming and asked if she’d be interested in writing some lyrics for several of the then duo’s tracks. It stuck. Very long hours and several months later, Chewing Pics has developed a very distinct repertoire. In their self titled studio “The Living Room” , the band began by seeding the idea of intertwining improvisational Jamming with already constructed layouts to come to what some audience members have described as a musical “journey”. The trio has developed an effect driven sound of laden colors that mash up against drum and bass and on top of that adding some real rock here and there. It all comes together in the band’s first EP “TARANTULA” where the music flows in and out of emotional crashes and highs. Chewing Pics and their music continues to blossom with each song they rock out, providing something worth listening to and art work that challenges the senses.

Looks like they have got exciting projects coming up. I love Naima, but on the lower tone, its probably best if she stick back to modelling. Yes really.
