Whats the point?

Yays i feel so damn sick that it feels almost epitome. Yea perhaps the epitome of a sickling:
Sickling, ugly, irrational, naive, stupid, over-optimistic at times, pessimist, emotional, paranoid, falls way too easily- duckling.

Wait I'm not a duck. What did they call me again? B1 or P1?

Sickling, ugly, irrational, naive, stupid, over-optimistic at times, pessimist, emotional, paranoid, falls way too easily- duckling B1.

There is no fairy tale in this world, unfortunately this world doesnt work by you trying to dream a dream, and probably when you muster that pathetic minuet courage to make it happen, you are too far off from the sidewalk.

The eptitome of a sad life. Where did those roses go?

Melamine

Melamine

I guess I should say something about this compound, since I mentioned it in my last post and I'm a chemistry major. Melamine is an organic base and a trimer of cyanamide. This melamine is apparently in much of the headlines of both local and international news, more famous for the "poisonous milk" that made many many babies develop kidney stones and at least 4 died from consumption of melamine tainted milk power.

Actually the China manufacturers had been doing this for a long time, it was kind of an open secret in the food industry, especially in the manufacturing of protein content products like dairy processed products, fertilizers, and even baby milk powder. Melamine may have been added to fool government protein content tests after water was added to fraudulently dilute the milk. Because of melamine's high nitrogen content (66% nitrogen by mass), , it can cause the protein content of food to appear higher than the true value. Officials estimate that about 20 percent of the dairy companies tested in China sell products tainted with melamine.

When this isnt even the fault of the milk farmers. It is really a sad sight to see them drain away their fresh milk like water, because of the lack of confidence of the citizens in the dairy products after the scandel.

Melamine itself as a monomer is not harmful, but when it gets into our body it reacts and combines with cyanuric acid to give melamine cyanurate.

Melamine Cyanurate complex

This beautiful structure here can coagulate as they form 3 hydrogen bond with each other, thus becoming a very stable structure. (If you want to know how stable they are, think DNA. Each DNA monomer has 2-3 H-hond interaction with the complimentary backbone). It is not a salt, due to the hydrogen linkage, yet it forms spike like crystals in aqueous solution. Yes and this is the extremely stable giant molecular structure that is found to cause the kidney stones in the babies that drank the tainted milk powder.
So stable, it is not readily excreted by the body. You wouldnt want to have this stuff in your body. There are still pretty much more interesting chemistry about this melamine cyanurate, but I'm kinda tired and I still got organic midterm quiz on Thursay, so perhaps I will scrible some more stuffs up here soon.
End of chemistry lessons kids=) Isnt chemistry wonderful? I can deduce how to synthesis drugs now, like panadol blah blah blah, its just that I need to equipments. Ok I shall quit bragging and start mugging =.=

&& when that passion flares again.

Its been a while since I got that feeling, and yes it sure feels good. Like an old elementary schoolgirl crush; it feels almost innocent and intriguing, something like you just want more and more, yet I know this is too overwhelming for me. Wont it be nice if I could just, this one day, come lay under the milky way together? It will all be wonderful, just wonderful.

Why don't we all drink; snort and get wasted? This is make things all so much easier. No hesitation, no obligations, no commitments and of course, that joy ride.

Oh well aside from that some update about my boring life. It was such misfortune that this one afternoon when Ali and I went to the library to mug, and there it was, the fire drill. Oh gawdamn it. When the librarians chose us out via the emergency exit (which I suspect the extremely excited staffs had been hiding and waiting for that 3.30 mark in their neon green vest), we ran down the stairs and out into the rain.

Yea that wasn't even the shitty part. Surprisingly we strolled through the carpark into the shelter whilst the others were almost dashing for their lives. Half drenched, we were looking for a seat to dry ourselves and calm our nerves, when i nearly slipped down the stairs twice. She was so helpful in grabbing me only after I regained balance. Perhaps no one noticed, it was more of our embarrassing laughter that caught their attention.

Lab was shitty too. You just have that luck to work with people you don't exactly, erm, enjoy working with. Its alright I guess. You take it in and breathe it out, and everything will be allllright. And not to mention that lecture. THAT EVENINGS LECTURE. The aircon wasnt on and it took 45minutes before someone finally said something. And the professor was like:

"I know, I'm sweating too, but i don't see any obvious controls around here.."

He went on a little hunt for the non apparent controller, yes I was cursing under my breathe what good had PhD actually done to someone. Finally he had the decency to call the office. It was only after like 20minutes when we could stop breathing each other's carbon dioxide.

Someone feed them melamine milk please.
